31,764 illegal Haitians arrested and repatriated

From January to mid-November 2021, the Dominican Republic repatriated to Haiti 31,764 Haitians (28,604 men and 3,160 women) who lived in Dominican territory in an irregular migratory situation according to statistical data provided by the General Directorate of Migration.

These figures exclude Haitians intercepted at the border and returned to Haiti. From July 2020 to August 2021, 178,000 Haitians (nearly 500 on average per day) who attempted to enter Dominican territory illegally were intercepted at the border and repatriated to Haiti.
