Colombia calls for an economic intervention in Haiti

At the Regional Ministerial Summit held this month in Bogota (Colombia) on the migration crisis caused by the flow of Haitian migrants (in the absence of Haiti, which according to a high-ranking source close to the Government have not have been informed of the holding of this summit), the Colombian President,  Iván Duque called on organizations like the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) to make a “structural” intervention.

Ivan also suggested the relaunch of the Park Caracol industrial plant inaugurated in 2012 in the  North East  department as part of a major industrial mobilization in order to generate hope and income in Haiti that will help resolve the massive migratory exodus in the region.
