Barges carrying fuel are expected to arrive in Haiti this weekend

Two barges carrying a large amount of fuel are expected to arrive in the country this weekend. One of the barges will dock in another port in the West and the other in the South to supply the market facing a severe fuel shortage.

With this strategy, the government seems to want to avoid the path of confrontation with the gangs who take the oil shipments hostage in Varreux and Thor.

G9 leader Jimmy Chérizier challenged the government to recover the fuel that had arrived in Varreux several weeks ago. An attempt by Minister of the Interior Liszt Quitel to facilitate the release of the gas was unsuccessful. His procession came under heavy fire from automatic weapons due this strategy change.
