“Haitians must live in Haiti, because we can not continue to bear the brunt of this massive illegal immigration, which has been aggravated by the crisis created by Jovenel, because of his personal interest in staying in power, even though the people has almost year demanding his resignation, “said Ramfis, who is among those who proposed the construction of a wall at the border.
Concerning the principle of sovereignty, alleged by the Haitian President, Domínguez Trujillo explained that the construction of the wall is done on the basis of the sovereignty established in the Dominican Constitution and the “inviolable right to preserve our territorial integrity”.
“Our country has been declared free, independent and sovereign of all foreign powers, after the emancipation of the Haitian yoke in 1844. A physical wall guarantees that this will inscribed in our Magna Carta will prevail and subsist.”
